the ripple effect
What do you remember from your childhood trips to the beach? Building sandcastles, collecting shells, swimming through seaweed? What will our children remember? Broken bottles, floating bags, and washed up whales with plastic straw-lined stomachs? Our ocean is covered in layers of cling film.
‘The Ripple Effect’ mixes the sense of childhood nostalgia with the subtle conversation of currents events of ocean contamination through mixed media. This experience questions our use and indulgent consumption of plastic. 95% of the world’s ocean is undiscovered but our waste has sure hit the ocean floor before we ever will. Welcome to an experience of complete garbage!
